This go-to biscuit recipe is perfect for cake sales, school fetes or filling the biscuit tin at work. These biscuits freeze well after baking, too.

IngredientsMakes: 100 biscuits
- 500g butter
- 250g caster sugar
- 400ml condensed milk
- 625g self raising flour

- In a large bowl cream butter, sugar and condensed milk until light and creamy in texture.
- Add the flour, mix well and then divide into 4 portions. Add other ingredients suggested below to each portion as desired.
- Combine all ingredients together, roll tablespoon of the mixture into balls and flatten slightly.
- Place on baking tray, leaving room for spreading. Bake for 14 to 16 minutes in a preheated 170 C / Gas 3 oven, or until light golden in colour. Allow to stand for 5 minutes on tray, then place on wire rack until cool.
Use any combination of these ingredients to make different flavours:
3 tablespoons cocoa and 125g chocolate chips
75g glace cherries and 125g chopped white chocolate
3 teaspoons grated orange zest and 175g chocolate chips
150g chopped macadamia nuts and 125g chocolate chips
Roll into balls, make indent in centre and add your favourite jam
Roll into balls and press into hundreds and thousands
Roll into balls and press into raw sugar and cinnamon

Something else.I used some of the mixture today, then rolled the rest in grease proof paper in batch's put some in the freezer & some in the fridge. I simply slice the rolls & biscuits are ready to cook... Voila'-10 Nov 2010
